Summit County Juvenile Court is seeking a full-time Certified Court Reporter.

The starting rate for this position is $59,425.60 annually.

General Duties:

  • Under judicial direction, the Court Reporter will accurately transcribe digital recordings using stenographic reporting and computer-aided transcription (CAT).

Responsibilities include:

  • Capturing and maintaining verbatim records of proceedings by stenotype.
  • Transcribing in camera proceedings and other hearings as requested by the Judge.
  • Monitoring the CourtSmart digital recording system, archiving, and retrieving electronic court proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of court reporting or an associate degree in reporting.
  • Certification as a Registered Professional Reporter (preferred).
  • Experience in verbatim shorthand reporting and transcription.
  • Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and transcript formatting.
  • Ability to use CAT transcription systems with real-time capabilities.
  • Knowledge of the CourtSmart digital recording system and Windows-based PC environments.
