Summit County Juvenile Court is seeking a full-time Certified Court Reporter.

The starting rate for this position is $59,425.60 annually.

General Duties:

Under judicial direction, the Court Reporter will accurately transcribe digital recordings using stenographic reporting and computer-aided transcription (CAT).

Responsibilities include:

Capturing and maintaining verbatim records of proceedings by stenotype.
Transcribing in camera proceedings and other hearings as requested by the Judge.
Monitoring the CourtSmart digital recording system, archiving, and retrieving electronic court proceedings.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of court reporting or an associate degree in reporting.
Certification as a Registered Professional Reporter (preferred).
Experience in verbatim shorthand reporting and transcription.
Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and transcript formatting.
Ability to use CAT transcription systems with real-time capabilities.
Knowledge of the CourtSmart digital recording system and Windows-based PC environments.
