Audio Transcription Services Listing - Member Opportunity

MEMBER OPPORTUNITY:  AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES LISTING

OCRA is sharing an opportunity that could expand both the visibility and value of our profession while directly supporting courts across Ohio.

As many of you know, courts throughout the state continue to face challenges in maintaining consistent court reporter coverage. In response, there has been increasing interest in reliable, high-quality audio transcription services when a court reporter is not available. OCRA has been approached in the past - through court administrators, court technology professionals, and at various statewide conferences - about whether our members could help fill this gap.

To address this need, OCRA has created a voluntary list of OCRA members who are willing to provide audio transcription services to courts that do not have a staff court reporter. This list will serve as a resource for courts seeking experienced, qualified professionals, while also opening additional work opportunities for our members.  Click here to view additional information shared by OCRA as resources for the legal community.

At the same time, the Ohio Supreme Court is in the process of assembling a work group to examine the role of AI in transcription. While technology will undoubtedly be part of the conversation, it is critical that trained court reporters remain at the forefront of ensuring accuracy, reliability, and the integrity of the record. By positioning OCRA members as available and ready to assist, we reinforce the importance of human expertise in this evolving landscape.
