In memory of Larry Jackson

Fellow reporters joined together to make a contribution to OCRA in memory of member Sue Terry's brother, Larry Jackson, who passed away in April.

Larry G. Jackson, 70 of Springfield passed away April 29, 2014 in the OSU Medical Center. He was born in Lima, Ohio on July 27, 1943, the son of Ferman & Thelma Jackson. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Shawnee High School and attended Wilmington Colleges. He was later inducted into the Clark Shawnee Football Hall of Fame. Larry was a faithful member of the Grace Baptist Church, Urbana. He retired as a purchaser from KTH Industries. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Jodi Jackson. Survivors include his wife Christine Jackson, whom he married Dec. 4, 1994; daughters Lori (Ritchie) Allender and Amy (Jeff) Chapman; brother Roger (Jeanie) Jackson; sisters Peggy (Charlie) Hall and Sue (Keith) Terry; grandchildren Jennifer (Josh) Gilliam, Andy & Justin Chapman, Amanda (Joey) Bailey, Kaylee & Matthew Allender; great-grandchildren Aaron, Zach, Mackenzie and Sophia; many nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companions Marvin and Leo.
