OCRA District D CEU and Networking Event - May 17th

Who had the best strokes? Paint strokes, not steno!

OCRA painted the night away with the District D CEU and Networking event 

DISTRICT D CEU AND NETWORKING EVENT - SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2015

District D held a CEU and Networking Event at Hudson's Restaurant, 3900 Medina Road, Akron, Ohio.  The event included:  .2 CEUs, 50/50 Raffle won by Bruce Matthews, as well as a step-by-step Wine and Canvas opportunity that showed off the hidden talent in every attendee!

12:00 p.m. - Registration Opened

12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. - There’s more to it than just having a good time (.2 CEUs) (Lunch appetizers provided) 

Attorney Scott A. Rilley spoke about the DUI laws in the state of Ohio and also about some of the more memorable cases he's handled throughout his career and what it means to him, as a defense attorney advocating for his clients, to have a competent court reporter preserving the proceedings.  Scott Rilley was born and raised in Summit County, graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and was admitted to practice in Ohio in 1993, and currently practices with the firm of Callahan, Greven, Rilley & Sinn in Summit and surrounding counties.  Scott has extensive experience in all aspects of criminal law, both as an Assistant Summit County Prosecutor and a defense attorney, and he has devoted his 20-plus years of experience exclusively to criminal law.  Scott has extensive trial experience, having presented well over 150 cases to a jury throughout his career and is considered one of the preeminent defense attorneys in the northeast Ohio area.  

2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Break

3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Wine* and Canvas  

Wine* and Canvas was not just a paint class, it was Art Entertainment at its finest.  Each attendee sipped their favorite wine or cocktail, letting their inner artist out to create a masterpiece and maybe breaking into song throughout the night. With step-by-step instructions, even without a stroke of painting experience, every attendee was at ease.  They left their cares at the door and dove right in to the paint party. Best part:  They each took their artwork with them and left the clean up behind!   (*Full wine and spirit menu was available for an additional cost.)
